RUI N' ART CONSULTANCY
Art Criticism and Curatorship | Events Strategy Leadership & Management
About
I am an arts and cultural entrepreneur by profession, an art critic by vocation, and a Punk-Goth at heart.
Dynamic arts and cultural leader with 20+ years of experience in contemporary art criticism, event production, and cultural management. Expertise spans large-scale public events, cross-cultural festivals, and strategic consultancy, with additional depth in academic research, visual arts criticism, and international collaboration. Proven record of leading diverse teams, driving audience engagement, and curating impactful cultural initiatives. Experienced speaker, published author, and active member of global arts networks including A.I.C.A. International and IKT International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art.
My expertise crosses the fields occupied by arts and cultural management and production, the market for and contemporary art theory (specifically photography), as well as social criticism and participation, and epicure. As an art and cultural entrepreneur, I have found the cross-cultures festival Trienal, a festival that brings together all of those interests, and, from 2013 to 2017 I have led a programme of online exhibitions. As an art critic and curator I have wrote about and shown the work of Per Barclay, Wang Ningde, Rosângela Rennó, Jane & Louise Wilson, Kimono Yoshida, etc. and have collaborated in the commission and organisation of exhibitions of Robert Frank, Hermann Pitz, amongst others. My pertinent singular and analytical writings about art have been published both nationally and internationally in art magazines and newspapers, and I have contributed to books on art, participation, and democracy.
